Trip Overview

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a dream adventure of many, but some of us don’t have enough days to enjoy it to the fullest. We understand your time limitations and make it thrilling equally, with the Annapurna Base camp option, combined with a heli ride way back to Kathmandu.

Would you take it?

You can trek to explore the raw beauty of the deep forests, amazing landscapes, and lush green hills of the Annapurna Range. A heli ride to the heart of the Annapurna region will pay that off.

Trip Itinerary

01

Let our representative help you complete all your immigration formalities and baggage claims after you touch down. After the airport work, they will take you to the hotel in Kathmandu.

We will pre-book the hotel on your behalf and according to your choice. The rest of the day is time for you to relax and adjust to the climate of the city. You can walk around the hotel or simply rest.

There’s no way you’re in Kathmandu and skip on the top Nepalese cuisine like Thakali set, momo, and samaybaji. We will order you some Nepali tadka, spicy and flavorsome dishes, which will taste even better after a long flight.

02

Isn’t that less obvious that we would fly to Pokhara? We enjoy a 30-minute flight to Pokhara, with breakfast right before we transfer to TIA. It might take around 1 and a half hours or two to clear the security and finally be in Pokhara.

Do take some pictures to make your friends envy the trip. But there is so much more ahead.

We’ll stop for a short breakfast at a local eatery. Eat a full meal because this day marks the official beginning of your trek. Also, buy some nuts, fruits, and snacks if you haven’t already.

Without wasting time, we will enjoy a ride from Pokhara to Naapul. This 1.5-hour trek will keep you hooked with the interesting surrounding countryside and freshness. Once we reach Nayapul, we will walk toward Tikhedhunga. Today’s trek is beginner-friendly.

We will gradually ascend through terraced fields, small settlements, and green forests. The trail follows Modi Khola, entertaining you with the sounds of the river through most of the journey.

With appreciation of nature in the heart and a wanderer at pace, 4-5 hours, they will be just gone in no time and you reach Tikhedhunga. We actually are staying here at local teahouses, at  1,540 meters. Surprisingly not high enough, so we can easily zip on to spend the night at this altitude.

03

The second day of the trek is a bit challenging as we continue to gain elevation (1290 m) for the day. We take regular meals and, on the way, make memories through rhododendrons and oak trees, and pass by some traditional Gurung villages.

Some trails are going to be steep and consuming but that will reward you with breathtaking views of mountains like:

  • Annapurna I
  • Annapurna South
  • Machhapuchre

Ghorepani, our destination of the day is more beautiful than you have assumed. A hilltop at 2,850 meters, has it all that you cherish to look for, the crystal-clear mountain views and the aura of the serenity of the surroundings.

With a cup of tea and the warmth of spices, you will love the villages here in Annapurna. We stay in our rooms and discuss the next trek to Poonhill, another one of the tourist’s favourite short treks.

04

Just on time, we wake up early, as our day plans start with sunrise at Poonhill. This short hike is more beautiful than it will make up for the one hour's ascend. Our guide will briefly show you the Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges and help you identify those based on their features. There is no better place to watch a sunrise than the Poonhill.

After the mesmerizing sunrise, we grab some breakfast. It is now to descend from Pool Hill to Tadapani. It's going to be an interesting 3-4 hours trek, where we stop mid-way for lunch at old Gurung villages.

In spring, your way will be filled with petals of rhododendrons. On the backdrop of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre peaks, we continue to walk and approximately enter an elevation of 2,500 meters at  Tadapani.

Teahouses here offer tasty meals with basic accommodation facilities, but what's beautiful is the location is so remote and still feels like home. You can rest and explore the village for some time. Sleep early as you have some more walking to do the next day.

05

We will descend to Sinuwa from Tadapani for about 3-4 hours, relishing the mountain views. Before reaching Sinuwa, we will stroll through stunning landscapes and rhododendron forests. We will reach Kimrung Khola and cross a suspension bridge. You can take your time and rest as some stops and some trails are rough.

After nearly an hour, we will reach Chhomrong village. You do not have to rush. Take some rest, hydrate yourself and explore Chhomrong village for a while. Now it is time to ascend uphill for around 2-3 hours to make our way to Sinuwa.

Sanuwa is a peaceful village which sits at a height of 2,310 meters. There, you will check into a teahouse and relax. You can either explore the village or prepare for the next part of your trek.

06

Unlike the past few days, this day is going to be tough. From Sinuwa to Deurali, the journey will take from 7 to 8 hours which is almost double that any other day.

The long walk will give you trails with scenic views, rivers, and forests. The closer you walk, you will notice Mount Annapurna approaching you.

You will walk in the middle of dense forests and cross the Bamboo village. You can guess why the village got its name ‘’Bamboo.’’ You will cross a dense bamboo forest from where you can make your way to Dovan, and our final stop for the day, is Deurali which is situated at 3230m.

07

When you leave Deurali to the Annapurna Base Camp, you get to see what you come for. This is going to be tough, actually, the most strenuous part, as we elevate to a height of 4130 meters.

Some of our friends can see the symptoms of altitude sickness, but we are prepared for emergencies. The trails are straight uphill at a high altitude but we take a steady walk. We capture the final legs on Annapurna as we are to return on a Heli ride after we have enough of these views.

Make sure you hydrate yourself well and take medicines because there is a high chance of getting altitude sickness. After a quick breakfast at Deurali, we will leave in the wee morning hours.

After days of walking through deep forests, we will likely make our way through deserted land. Not all of us are used to walking at such high altitudes, which brings the need for us to be cautious of any signs and symptoms of altitude sickness

Machhapuchhre Base Camp we will pass by at 3700 meters, chasing huge waterfalls during the MBC, stunning photographs, and preparing for the windy trail to Annapurna.

No wonder how hungry the ascending walk makes you. It's the last time when we will be having lunch where you can enjoy Nepalese or continental dishes at close to 4000 meters. The air won't be getting any thinner, but we need to cover ourselves against the cold windy trail.

Annapurna Base Camp at 4130 meters, is all the worth of the 7 days-long trek. You will feel spiritual as the colourful religious flags flap with the sound of the wind. When night falls, you can see the sky full of stars, something which is almost impossible in cities. The best part? You will see the mountains glowing even under the moonlight.

08

The last day is different we don't walk by, we reach the ABC camp, stop by for more moments, and return our way to Kathmandu. That too in a heli ride, somewhat magical, like a bird would see the Himalayas.

This 20-30-minute ride back to KTM is the last memo of your ABC heli trek. We suggest you make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime moment over the Annapurna region, you also see Mansiri Himalayan ranges, fly over Phewa Lake, and reach Kathmandu, just like that. You are sure that you did not want it to end. But these are the short-lived moments, that get their place forever, like an experience in Nepal.

We settle down at our hotels and prepare for departure, by packing our bags, memories, and some souvenir shopping in Thamel

09

Do some sightseeing around the city after breakfast. Remember not to take too much flight as you have some packing to do and a flight to catch.

The hotel will make your travel arrangements to the airport. Considering Kathmandu traffic, leave for the airport early so that you don’t miss your flight. That is the wrap of your trekking journey in Nepal for now.

FAQ's

If you take a heli ride in the Annapurna region, several things will determine the cost. The number of passengers, duration of the tour, departure point, and the Heli's company will most likely bring the ups and downs in your cost.

Most definitely! There is no denying that a heli ride is more expensive than trekking. But if you’re willing to pay the price, it gives you a better and more convenient way to explore the Annapurna region, which looks divine from above. Along with the view, it also saves you time. So why not?
