Trip Overview

Summer and water activities have each other’s backs. It is impossible to prevent yourself from jumping into a swimming pool on a hot day. No wonder water parks reach their peaks during the summer and are packed with people of every age. But what about taking the fun activity to another level? What is stopping you from adding rafting to your bucket list this summer?

Maybe you have the fear of fast water but it is definitely worth a try. And who knows you might even lose your fear of the water at the end? If you’re a beginner, try giving it a shot in the summer as the water level is not that high and the rapids are less harsh. So, make a team of your friends and dive into this fun outdoor activity and you’ll thank yourself for it later.

Orchid Tours and Travels has constructed a one-day Trishuli rafting tour where you will get an adrenaline rush rafting through the Trishuli River along the relaxing atmosphere.

Trishuli River Rafting Suitability

Rafting requires strong physical ability and interest. With that, it is suitable for many people. We have mentioned some factors to consider before going for rafting:

  1. Physical fitness: You know that rafting is physically draining and you have to be physically fit for the job. You have to handle the paddles and ride the currents for several hours. In case of any medical issues, consult your doctor before planning a rafting trip.
  2. Age: There is no age restriction for rafting. That said, one must be above 12 years old and in good physical condition.
  3. Experience: Haven’t gone rafting before? No problem at all. Even a beginner can go and have as much fun. Just be aware of the rapids and listen to the guide’s instructions properly.
  4. Comfort Level: Rafting is risky at some levels. So, to complete the adventure successfully, you need to be completely comfortable with the water and put on your safety gear. Remember the more comfortable you feel with the water, the more the journey gets easier.

Rafting Highlights

  • Battle thrilling rapids as you navigate the challenges of the fierce water
  • Raft along the river while experiencing the luxurious greenery
  • Keep an eye out for birds, monkeys and even fish and crocs along the banks
Trip Itinerary

7:00 AM

The earlier you wake up today, the better. Pack your essentials and have a proper breakfast because you will depart at 7:00 am for the adventure. The first-timers might get a mixed feeling of excitement and nervousness.

We will book a private vehicle to make your journey comfortable and fast. The 3-hour ride route follows Prithvi Highway and some scenic glimpses of the countryside once you cross Chandragiri. You can also ask the driver to stop for a few moments if you see any interesting spots on the way. Just make sure that you don’t take much time because rafting awaits you.

10:00 AM

After the fun ride through nature, you reach Charaudi, a small town on the banks of the Trishuli River. This naturally beautiful town also has trekking trails to some popular destinations. That means it will be easier for you to trek to some popular destinations after enjoying rafting there.

After your arrival, there will be a short introduction and fun chat between the guides and all the rafters. Very experienced, these guides will tell you everything you require before, during, and after rafting. They will provide you with all the necessary safety equipment and safety instructions. Wear your helmets, and lifeboats and carry your paddles.

Leave your phones, jewellery or electronic items safely in the resort. Many rafters make the mistake of carrying their gadgets and end up losing them in the water. If you want to record the experience of rafting, you may wear a GoPro on your helmet or ask your guide to do it for you.

Before starting, get a second to know your fellow rafters well since it is necessary to create a team bond for the successful completion of rafting. Clear your doubts by asking questions before the rafting starts. If you get in the water with lots of questions in your mind, that might end up ruining the whole team’s efforts. So, it is always better to ask questions than be quiet.

10:30 AM

Now that everything is in good hands, your exhilarating white-water rafting begins. The ride starts smoothly for a couple of minutes. You can simply sail and enjoy the breeze and the views of the hills on either side. And then comes the fun! You will suddenly go through some bumpy rides as the water starts throwing tiny currents on your path.

Always listen to your guide’s instructions while focusing ahead. It takes the whole team’s effort to navigate through rapids, especially the harder ones. Always remember that you need to work with your team to overcome the challenges and get the fun of the adventure.

Your guide must have explained to you about the rapids levels and their names. You will hit a few class 2 and 3 rapids named ‘’LADLADIESLIGHT’’ and take a break. Next, after some smooth sailing, you will encounter ‘’UPSET’’ and ‘’SURPRISE’’ rapids which are equally thrilling and fierce. Celebrate each victory by giving your team a big shoutout.

1:30 PM

After almost three hours of navigating through the exciting and scary rapids and getting all drenched in the white water, you will reach Kuringhat. This is where your rafting comes to an end. Rest for some time and reflect on the past few hours that you spent having an adventure in the water.

Take a moment to celebrate the win and have fun on the riverside. You can either play some fun games or sing and dance and add more fun. No one can have fun for long with an empty stomach. Rafting takes enormous energy and you need to refuel your body with some delicious meal.

Head back to the resort and take a shower first. After that, enjoy a buffet meal with your friends and reminisce about the thrill you just had.

2:30 PM

After the adventure and the food, all your body needs is rest. You have some time to chill by the riverside and do nothing else. You and your friends can lay on the white sand and look at the sky while the sound of the water and birds chirping fills your ears.

You can also click photographs, making memories stronger. There is also some time for you to explore the nearby areas of the resort. Or you simply grab a drink and enjoy the view while chatting with your friends.

3:30 PM

What a day it was! After a whirlwind time in the water, it is time to return to Kathmandu. Collect your belongings and get in the vehicle. Take a deep nap as you drive back to the city via the Prithvi Highway. If you’re someone who dislikes sleeping during a ride, look outside and enjoy the evening view.

In a couple of hours, depending on the traffic conditions, you will reach Kathmandu, the place from where it all began.

6:30 PM

After an unbelievably fun day, you finally reach Kathmandu in the late evening. You can rest at your hotel or roam around the city to enjoy its vibrant nightlife. For dinner, you can have any authentic Nepali dish or any of your choice. That calls in for a peaceful sleep afterwards.

FAQ's

There is not a compulsion to wear certain clothes for rafting. That said, wear something that dries quickly, like polyester or nylon. Don’t wear jeans, as they can get heavy. You don’t want to slip and fall while having fun. So, wear sandals with a good grip. Strapless flip-flops and sandals are not meant for times like these.

Hydrate your body with lots of water and fruits before rafting and take water bottles with you. Dehydration can be a serious issue during rafting so preventing that is essential. You’ll be in sun exposure so put sunscreen all over your face and body. Not just yourself but you need to take care of the surroundings as well. Do not throw any waste in and around the river. Keeping the surroundings clean is everybody’s responsibility.

Half-day trips are always cheaper than full-day. If you have a larger group, you are liable to get more discounts. If you’re going rafting during peak seasons, the price may go up. Other than that, different rafting companies have different packages that come with varying prices.
